Condition:  This book is in fair condition. Hardcover. Brown, beveled cloth boards embellished with gilt titles. Cover is rubbed along edges and corners. Cloth torn at corners and frayed on head/tail of spine. Gilt along spine is faded. Significant rubbing along outer hinges. Prelims are torn. There is a pencil signature on front endpaper. Dual frontispieces (Portrait of Washington and the Declaration of Independence) separated by tissue guard. Title page has moisture stain along bottom. Page 6, portrait of lincoln has moisture stain along bottom. Text block is slightly toned along edges but in good condition. Illustrations are numerous and very well rendered. Pages 63-67 have brown staining along edge. Interior hinges are starting.
