These books are in good condition. Leather. Three Volumes. Complete in two volumes plus a third volume "Curso de Filosophia Fundamental." Beautifully bound in blue leather, embossed with gilt rules and gilt titles on spine. Hand marbled endpapers and edges. Volume I has some damage on the head of the spine. Covers are worn along edges, corners, and hinges. These rare, Spanish language philosophy books came from a private collection of a famous bookbinder and have been well taken care of. The text block is crisp and clean. -


Jaime Luciano Balmes y Urpiá was a Spanish philosopher, theologian, Catholic apologist, sociologist and political writer. Familiar with the doctrine of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Balmes was an original philosopher who did not belong to any particular school or stream was called by Pius XII the Prince of Modern Apologetics.
