With Introduction by S. R. Crockett
Illustrations by John Wallace

Volume 1: The Entails or the Lairds of Grippy
Volume 2: Sir Andrew Wiley of That Ilk
Volume 3: The Provost and The Last of the Lairds

Publisher: William Blackwood and Sons, London
Copyright: 1895

Condition: This set is in fair condition. Half Leather. Brown leather over marbled boards. Covers are worn along the edges and corners. The leather is chipped along hinges. Five raise the bands on spine with hand tooled gilt titles. Outer hinges are delicate on Volume volume 1 and volume 3. Front board has completely detached from volume 2. I suspect the boards for all volumes will detach with light use. These books are in need of repair or rebinding. Scarce. Top edge gilt is faded. The text block and illustrations in all three volumes are bright and crisp. Each value has two engravings. The leather has completely chipped off the top portion of the spine of Volume 2.
