CONDITION: This book is in good condition. Hardcover. Decorative cloth boards feature a serene balcony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Covers are rubbed along edges and corners. Binding sturdy. Hinges tight. Front endpapers feature a dedication stamp. Apparently this book was once given as a prize to a freshman in St. Joseph's College in Philadelphia (Francis A. O'Malley). A color frontispiece featuring a shrine to the Madonna in the Venetian lagoon faces the title page complete with tissue guard. The text block is crisp and clean as are all the illustrated plates. Top edge gilt with deckled page edges.
